Conference Publicity

We would be extremely grateful if you could assist us in publicising the conference. Please click on the links below to download a Poster or PowerPoint slide. If you wish, please display them in a prominent place in your work place where it can be viewed by people who would find this conference of interest.

General Information

Access to Auditoria – important note!
Due to the large number of delegates attending this year’s conference, we anticipate that not all delegates will be able to be accommodated in the main auditorium for the most popular sessions. Arrangements have therefore been made to video link to another auditorium in the congress centre. This will allow you to see and hear the presentations, but unfortunately you will not be able to participate in any question/answer sessions. To avoid disappointment, please make sure you take your seats early.

Business Centre
This is located in the ground floor, Strathblane Hall, and will be open during normal conference hours. Please note that there will be a charge for services used.

Certificate of Attendance
These can be obtained from the Conference Registration desk on request.

Congress Etiquette
Delegates are advised that they are not allowed to take photographs of any posters or presentations without the author’s/presenter’s consent. Delegates should also obtain consent from an author before citing any of their work that was presented at the conference.

Conference Blogging Policy
The ISDB Congress aims to retain a ‘small meeting’ feel and encourages scientists to speak about new and unpublished data. There will, however, be editors and journalists attending, as well as scientists who might be contributing to blogs, and it is not easy to make a meeting of this size completely private. We are therefore asking all journalists and bloggers that if they plan to report directly specific details of any of the presentations, they first seek the approval of the presenter.

If you do want to report or blog about details of the presentations at the Congress, please register first with the conference organisers, In Conference who can be found at the Conference Registration Desk.

Mobile phones should be switched off or placed on ‘silent’ during sessions. Thank you for your co-operation.

Monday 7th September 09.30 – 20.00

Internet Café & Wifi Access
The ISDB internet café will be located on the mezzanine floor between the Cromdale and Strathblane Halls. The conference is providing this facility free to delegates. Please note that there will be no printing facilities.
If you wish to use your own laptops, please contact the Conference Registration desk staff who will issue you with a password, also free of charge.

Security
Your name badge must be worn at all times otherwise you will not be allowed entry to the congress centre. Exhibitor staff do not have access to the scientific sessions.

Please leave any luggage or poster tubes with the staff at the cloakroom. This will be manned during the normal opening hours of the conference.

Speaker Preview Room
This is located in Harris Room 1, on the first floor. All presenters are required to check in their presentation a minimum of 4 hours prior to their talk. The opening hours are shown in the detailed programme.

Tea/Coffee Breaks and Lunch Arrangements
Catering points will be located over two levels in the Congress Centre. The main points will be located in the lower level Cromdale Hall (beside the exhibitors) and the secondary points in the ground level Strathblane Hall. Please follow the directions of the Staff at the Congress Centre.

On Monday and Thursday there will be a buffet lunch and on Tuesday and Wednesday there will be deli-bag lunches. On Wednesday you may take your lunch into the Lomond auditorium for the Nikon Satellite Symposium.

If you have requested a special diet at the time of registering (other than vegetarian), then your name badge will have a sticker on it which you should show to the catering staff who will bring you your pre-ordered food.

Ramadan
There will be a limited number of deli bags available at the end of the congress day for those observing Ramadan. Please order these when you arrive at the conference registration desk.
