	Masatoshi Takeichi Masatoshi Takeichi has been director of RIKEN Center for Developmental Biology since 2000. He completed the B.Sc/M.S. programs at Nagoya University, and became professor in Department of Biophysics and then in Graduate School of Biostudies at Kyoto University. Takeichi is best known for his discovery of cadherins, which are fundamental in the mechanisms of cell-cell adhesion.
