Accounts Executive – Flexible Working Contract

Job Description
We are expanding our team and require an experienced Finance Assistant on a fixed term contract currently on a working from home basis. The hours of work are flexible and it is expected that these would equate to 3 days per week. Duties and experience will include (but are not limited to):

• Responsible for individual client accounts
• Recording all income and expenditure and fully reconciling all transactions and client bank accounts in excel and XERO
• Preparing regular client financial reports
• Preparation of client quarterly VAT returns
• Preparation of client final accounts and working alongside client’s accountants to prepare client final accounts for Companies House and Charities Commission
• Raising and processing sales and purchase invoices
• Allocating remittance advices to client accounts
• Managing outstanding invoices and chasing debtors
• Cross checking Xero nominal accounts and reconciling for client accounts
• Dealing with online merchant account services and PCI compliance
• Ensuring all emails are actioned in a timely manner
• General financial administration

These duties will be required not only in GBP accounts but also EUR and other international currency accounts.

Experience Educated to GSCE or equivalent, 3+ years working within a Finance Assistant role, Accountancy qualification advantageous.

• Efficient multi-tasker
• Ability to work under pressure
• Fully conversant with Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
• Experience of XERO Accounting software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail is a prerequisite as are excellent organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines
• Ability to work in a small team and equally confident to work under own initiative

Salary & Benefits
• Immediate start
• Salary: £18,000 - £22,000 (FTE)
• We offer a contributory Company Pension Scheme
• Additional week’s leave after 5 years of continuous service
